CAIR-MN Named 'Nonprofit to Know' by Minnesota Philanthropy Partners
(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 8/7/13) -- The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) has been named a "Nonprofit to Know" by the Minnesota Philanthropy Partners (MPP). MPP is a network of foundations, funds and organizations that share knowledge and services to make charitable giving thrive and benefit all Minnesotans.

CAIR-MN is the state's only Muslim civil rights and legal advocacy organization. Cases include employment discrimination, school bullying and harassment, mosque opposition, hate crimes and vandalism, racial and religious profiling, and extra-judicial exile. Last year, CAIR-MN handled nearly 180 cases involving Minnesota Muslims and other racial and religious minorities.
"Protecting the rights of Minnesota Muslims is at the core of CAIR-Minnesota's mission," said CAIR-MN Director Nausheena Hussain. "We work to ensure that everyone is treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve."
