Action: Join the Rally Against Torture June 24 in D.C.
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 6/4/12) -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) -- in partnership with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Amnesty International, the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, and some 20 other religious, human and civil rights organizations -- invites you to join the rally against torture on June 24 in Washington, D.C.
The June 24 rally is part of a national week of action in Torture Awareness Month, which includes June 26 as International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. CAIR is asking you to join us in a week of action to demonstrate to our elected officials that Americans say no to torture and other human rights violations.
Friday, June 22: National Call-in Day to the White House & Congress
Call on President Obama and members of Congress to:
  1. Uphold the absolute ban on torture and other cruel and unusual punishments. 
  2. Close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. 
  3. End indefinite detention and military commissions. 
  4. Repeal Sections 1021 and 1022 of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act. 
  5. Release -- with as few redactions as possible -- the Senate Intelligence Committee report on CIA torture.
June 24: DC March Against Torture, Guantanamo & NDAA - Coalition Demonstration
